Let us set the scene here, you have made the great choice to buy an electric fireplace. After reading all of the rave reviews, and all the posts on our blog about how they are safer, cleaner, more environmentally friendly and require zero maintenance, you have decided that electric fires are definitely a thing you need.
It makes perfect sense, for someone like you, living a fast paced life, who does not have time to empty ashes, or wait for a fire to get going before you can enjoy it. Not to mention the flexibility of having the flame colour you want, and the minimal running costs. Anyway, you’ve made your mind up, but the only problem now is… which of the beautiful fireplaces do you want?!
Well, the good news is that we have a lot of choice. I suppose that could also be seen as bad news too. However, we can narrow down your search pretty quickly. Are you in the market for a traditional style fireplace or a media wall type fire? Those two are very different, and most customers will likely only be looking for one of the options.
When we say ‘traditional style’ we don’t mean the old electric fires, with the hard plastic front that lit up unrealistic looking logs and barely gave off any heat. Our fireplace surrounds range from beautiful, old world inspired regal models to cutting edge, on trend models with sleek lines and sharp colour options.
For the former see our Thompson Plus Suite, with the ability to actual traverse the two styles by capturing the grandeur of the traditional fireplace design while also having strong modern lines. This suite is matched perfectly with our Bespoke 640HD+ fire, which is included in the price.
Our Sydney Suite and Chelsea Supreme Suite also represent great options to capture some of the magic of the traditional fireplace. Both of these suites come with the Bespoke 640HD+ electric fire, and both are available in a range of marble colour options.

The other option is to go for the more modern looking media wall option. This is something that is increasingly popular among our customers and we are lucky enough to have been sent many stunning examples of customer installations of our fireplaces.
Please see some examples of the images our customer have sent in, below.

And some of those traditional style fireplaces we mentioned – absolutely stunning.
The ‘media wall’ fireplaces give you the option of installing your television, games console, stereo into the wall, so they sit flush with the edge. This s a beautiful presentation of the television, as seen in our examples above. There is nothing to worry about in terms of the heat from the fire affecting (or God forbid, melting) the television providing it is installed in line with the minimal distance guidance.
Of course, you may not want to have your television above the fireplace. As our example from a customer above shows, the placement of a statement clock creates a beautiful focal point for the room. A mirror can achieve the same effect, bringing out the true beauty of the fire.
As you can see, our panoramic units have three sides of glass in these examples. They are however available in 1, 2 or 3 sides options, demonstrating the flexibility of our products and team here at Fireplace Factory.
In a previous post listing the Top 10 reasons we think you should get an electric fireplace, we mentioned many benefits that electric fires have over alternative fuel fires. A huge one for the modern, busy person is the installation. With electric fires there is no chimney or flue required, the only thing our fires need is a standard 3 pin plug outlet – no need to get electricians out to fit high amp socket. When building a media wall you can hide all electrics in the wall itself. With our easy to follow installation guides, the process of installing the fireplaces is simple, straightforward and should not take more than a couple of hours.
